Our jobs typically run from Mid-May to Mid-September each year. We offer both full time and part time positions, and are happy to work with schedules from 2nd jobs for the right candidate.

RIVERSIDE EATS + DRINKS DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Concessions - Part time positions for events at the Carlson Arena and UAF Patty Center. Must be at least 16 and be willing to get an Alaska Food Worker’s Card. Must be a reliable, team player responsible for stocking, maintaining and serving concessions to guests during events. Most are evening or weekend hours.

Bartender/Wet Side Concessions - Part time positions for events at the Carlson Arena and UAF Patty Center. Must be at least 21 and willing to get an Alaska Food Worker’s Card and TAPs card. Must be a reliable team player responsible for stocking, maintaining and serving concessions and drinks to guests during events. Most are evening or weekend hours.

Security - Part time positions for events at the Carlson Arena and UAF Patty Center. Must be at least 18 and be a reliable team player with the ability to work evening or weekend hours. If you are 21+ you must be willing to get a TAPs card to work wet side / over 21 events.

Catering Service Staff - Part time positions for events at the Carlson Arena. Must be at least 16 and be a reliable team player who is willing to get an Alaska Food Worker’s Card.

Prep Cook - Part time positions for events at the Carlson Arena. Preparing concessions / catering, stocking concessions stands and bars, changing kegs (if 21 or over). Must be at least 18 and willing to get an Alaska Food Worker’s Card. Must be a reliable team player with the ability to work evening or weekend hours.

Dish Washer - Part time positions for events at the Carlson Arena. Must be at least 18, be willing to get an Alaska Food Worker’s Card and be a reliable team player with the ability to work evening or weekend hours.

ALASKA SALMON BAKE JOB DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Kitchen Manager - manages the day to day kitchen operations and maintains exacting standards including: recipe quality control; waste management; inventory management; accurate order check-in; BOH staff management and training; implementation of top level CDC and Alaska State Food, Safety & Cleanliness guidelines. Food Manager Certification and Valid driver’s license a plus.

Assistant Kitchen Manager - supports the Kitchen Manager in all above duties; unloads and checks in deliveries; assumes authority when the KM is not available. Valid driver’s license a plus.

Grill/Fry Cook - sets up and breaks down fry, grill and expo stations; assists with prep work; maintains quality control of food taste and presentation; controls waste management; assists with unloading deliveries and other tasks as they arise; and adheres to top level CDC and Alaska State Food, Safety and Cleanliness guidelines. Must be a team player and comfortable interacting with our guests.

Prep Cook * Day Prep/Baker - sets up, sanitizes, and breaks down prep stations; prepares items according to prep list created by KM; prepares food by adhering strictly to recipes and maintaining quality control; ensures all food items are properly stored and easily accessible; supervises food cooling, walk-in and freezer temperatures; maintains a clean, organized and sanitized kitchen; assists with unloading deliveries and other tasks as they arise; and adheres to top level CDC and Alaska State Food, Safety and Cleanliness guidelines.

Dishwasher - scrapes, rinses, and loads dishes and utensils into dish machine; washes and sanitizes all pans, utensils, and dishes; cleans, sanitizes, and maintains dish machine; unloads dishes and utensils from dish machine and organizes them properly into their designated areas; hand washes specialized equipment and returns it to its proper area; empties trash containers regularly; assists with unloading deliveries, prep work and other tasks are they arise. Alaska Food Worker’s card required.

Runner - this is a team position whose duties can include interacting with guests throughout the shift, preparing guest plates; running food; maintaining the stock and cleanliness of the salad bar, serving station, dessert house and drink stations; preparing and running to-go orders; serving menu and dessert items; preparing beverages; maintaining the cleanliness of all guest areas; assisting with food prep; and assisting with unloading deliveries.

Bartender - pours and serves alcoholic and n/a beverages based on customer requests; verifies the identification and age of customers; accepts payment from customers; ability to learn POS system; cash handling; performs end of shift check out; stocks all beverages and needed items for the beverage booth; changes beer kegs, soda bibs and CO2 canisters; manages inventory control of all beverage booth items; maintains cleanliness of beverage booth to top level CDC and Alaska State Guidelines. Must be 21 and TAPS certified.

Welcome Center Host / Cashier - greets our guests upon arrival; manages guest check in; answers phones; ability to learn POS system; cash handling; maintains cleanliness of Welcome Center; manages promotions and signage; performs end of shift check out; assists with preparing desserts and beverages as needed; assists with running food/drink/to-go orders; assists with daily set up and break down as needed. Must be detail oriented, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with guests.

Janitor - completes daily and weekly checklists to maintain top level cleanliness of all areas including: bathrooms, windows, floors, grease traps, buildings, garbage containers, flower beds, grounds, entrance tunnel; assists with unloading orders and completes special projects as needed

Grounds - maintains lawn, grounds, flower containers and flower/herb beds throughout the property at the Alaska Salmon Bake and at the office location on College Road.

PICK ‘n POKE GIFT SHOP JOB DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Gift Shop Clerk - greets guests upon arrival; ability to learn POS systems; performs guest check out; cash handling; performs end of shift check out; bags items; prepares items for shipping; manages inventory stock and control; maintains cleanliness of Gift Shop; maintains Gift Shop displays. Must be a self-starter, outgoing and comfortable interacting with guests.

PALACE THEATRE JOB DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Palace Player - ability to sing, harmonize and perform in front of a live audience. Assists with set up and break down of stage and theatre; assists with seating guests and escorting guests out of show. Auditions are held for this position.

Palace Piano Player - ability to play piano, emcee the revue, sing and perform in front of a live audience. Assists with set up and break down of stage and theatre; assists with seating guests and escorting guests out of show. Auditions are held for this position.

Stage Manager / Assistant Stage Manger - manages lights, sound, and theatre and stage set up and break down. Assists with seating guests and escorting guests out of show.

Door Host - greets guests upon arrival and checks them in; manages cash and credit card payments and pre-paid ticket lists; answers phones; assists with theatre set up and break down; assists with seating guest and escorting guests out of show and to buses.

Swamper - responsible for daily cleaning of theatre, stage, bathrooms, front and side boardwalk areas, and back patio.

FLY GAL TRANSPORTATION JOB DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Bus Manager - manages start up and inspection of buses; maintains cleanliness and safety of buses and related equipment; schedules drivers/buses and group pick ups; manages special charters; complies, and makes sure all drivers are in compliance with all State of Alaska and Federal DOT requirements and standards. Must be at least 22 and have a valid Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement and a current Medical Card. Pre-employment and random drug testing is required for this position.

Bus Driver - drives guests to and from Salmon Bake & Palace Theatre; ability to interact with guests and answer general questions; makes guest and employee safety a top focus at all times; complies with all State of Alaska and Federal DOT requirements and standards. Must be at least 22 and have a valid Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement and a current Medical Card. Pre-employment and random drug testing is required for this position.

OFFICE LOCATION JOB DESCRIPTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Bookkeeper - Experience with QuickBooks a requirement; responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax preparation, cash management; licensing follow-up. This is a full time position in the summer, however we have the ability to be flexible with days/hours; and a part time position in the winter.

Reservations - responsible for answering phones and emails; manages tour group manifests and interactions; manages all reservation requests and inquiries; assists General Manager with special projects on a daily basis.

Marketing & Events Assistant Manager - The ideal candidate will be fluent in social media, have a talent for graphic design, be detail orientated, organized, and have great time management skills. This isn't the job for someone who wants to do the same things day after day - we're looking for someone who is open to new challenges and adventures on a daily basis, and enjoys working with people!
